Scanjet g4050

I've developed a library program to help me keep track of photo negatives (yes, some of us still do the olde timey stuff).  I use my G4050 to scan the negatives and record the output file name in the database record.  Since I cannot control the name of the output file from the program I have to use the latest name in the directory and assume it's correct.  I would like to be able to direct the name of the file to reflect the primary key negative number directly but I have yet to find a way of interfacing with the scanjet program other than through the window interface.  The best I can do is spawn the program from the library app.

Is there a command line interface or, better yet, an object library that will allow me to direct the file output?
