I have a Microsoft 2012 R2 Server which is being used as an RDS server, providing 30 users remote desktop services. All offices have mainly HP P2055DN printers, we also have other HP printers.

 

The issue we have is if we use the latest PCL6 Universal print driver, often the only one avilalble for a range of HP printers users cannot print to multiple trays. The local printer is redirected in the TS session. The user will only be able to print to a single tray - usually tray 2, even though there is a tray 3 installed.  We have no issues when switching and using the microsoft Remote desktop print driver.

 

I have tried many versions of the HP Universal driver but without sucess. Is this a known problem for the HP Universal driver when used in a RDS environment?
