I have a Canon printer but have "been" using HP Photo paper, 4x 6. When I use HP Photo paper, it feed through the printer, without printing anything, and post a paper jam. I have used other photo paper, Canon, Espon, Office Depot, and have not had ANY issues, only with HP photo paper. Why?

Which HP Photo paper? There are many different offerings. All inkjet photo papers have coating designed to handle the ink they were designed for. It is possible the coating on the media you are using does not "pick" well in your Canon printer. It is possible the sensors in the printer that detect paper is properly loaded in the printer is not properly seeing the media, and as a result it ejects the media with an error.
It may help to clean the rollers for your printer. To see specifics for your model you might visit the Canon forums.

Hi,
I can't answer your question WHY. But I've been using HP Everyday Photo papers for many years on my printers (Epson, Canon, HP) and no problem what so ever:
What is your Canon printer ? And which software do you use to print. From my view, for simple photos printing, Canon Easy-Photo Print EX software is the best. Just 1, 2, 3, 4, no mucking around and results come out 100% right.
Regards.

It is a Canon iP4820 printer. I have had it for years and have always used HP photo paper. It has printed 100's of photos using HP photo paper. I have used every kind of HP paper, Everyday, Advanced, heavy and light. I have cleaned the rollers and have done all the maintenance that I can do. Sometimes it will print one print on HP paper. I bought Epson photo paper and have not had any problem with it. In fact, I loaded the printer with both papers putting one Epson sheet, then one HP sheet. The Epson paper printed fine and it always stops on the HP paper. I gave my Dad my HP paper and now I'm buying anything other than HP. I was just curious why and if HP had changed their paper.
