I need your help still...you speak of sending a private message with further details.

Please do.

I have 2 of these printers with the exaxct same problem, stuck on INITIALIZING....

Thanks, john

Turn the machine off, remove the network cord, and turn the machine on after a few seconds. Does it boots up as normal? If so you probably have corrupt print jobs in the print queue. To clear these you would go to the start menu>control panel>devices and printers> double click on the print driver and remove the jobs sitting in there.

After they're deleted try plugging in the netqork cable and turning the machine back on, hopefully that takes care of it. If not it may be something such as firmware or a formatter board

I have downloaded M225_M226_Series_FW_Update-20160418 - put it on a good USB flash drive and plugged it into the printors port, front left.

Nothing happens.

Rebooting printer, nothing happenes.

Since it is stuck in the INITIALZING  SCREEN I have no access to the settings etc.

I bought 3 of these, 2 are defective.

1 of those I returned to HP and the one they sent back is defective in the same way.

I have tried installing on 5 diff. PCs....always the same.

Please advise. Thanks, john

Did you try what I mentioned above? Removing the nw cable and turning it on to see if it boots up properly? If it's not a corrupt print job it's likely you could have a bad formatter. Which if you still have warranty, I'd get ahold of HP

Thanks for your help...

I have done everything you and others have said.

One day one of them actually went to the menu screen...briefly...

then went back to Initialising.

bought 3 idential printers...

1 works, 2 had same problem.

Returned one and it also had the identical INTIALISING problem.

That's 4 I have had and 3 are defective. Have 2 defective still and one working.

Am fed up shipping giant cartons....

will wait still and hope for help.

Thanks, john

The secret fix is not listed in that post. It always says i will PM it to you. If there are so many of us in this position with this same problem, why the hell don't you just post the secret fix publically and save all the negative publicity?!?!

Please send me the secret fix ASAP. I have 2 of these printers with the same exact problem and have tried all the steps listed in all the psots and nothing has worked.

Thanks in advacne!

So i worked out that if you:

1) Turn the printer off

2) Press and hold the Right Arrow (Just under the question mark on the right hand side middle of the panel) and the bottom left corner of the actual screen

3) Momentarily pressing the power button to turn the power on

4) Hold the Right Arrow and Bottom Left of the actual screen until "Permenant storage init" or similar comes up on the screen

It will run you through the initial factory/regional settings, but mine locks up after a few seconds on that screen.

You might not have to press the arrow, maybe just the bottom left of the screen according to some youtube clips i have seen for other models...

I even tried quickly running through the setup options, but after a few seconds on any screen it locks up. This is with the network unplugged as well.

I tried plugging it in to the pc via usb to update the firmware, but it doesn't appear to load far enough to be recognised by the pc as connected...

Any ideas?
