This is EXACTLY my problem, and I have tried these EXACT solutions to no avail.  Problem started around the end of March. Nothing works.

Can you try this Uninstaller from Microsoft and then reinstall the FULL feature software again?

Thereafter, reinstall the FULL feature sofwtare:

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Exactly, @Travellini. You will also notice that they keep avoiding answering my question about doing this with Microsoft to subtly stop supporting these products and make them nonfunctional on purpose.
