Hi
I've copied a previous issue as this is exactly what is happening to me 🙂 - help would be much appreciated - Thanks.
Can you send me that reset procedure because I have fallen down the same rabbit hole and I can't get the printer to work on my network either, even have a hard time getting it to work on usb direct which is really weird and none of the reset procedures have worked that I have tried.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet Pro 8720 printer. I understand that your printer is not found during network setup and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,
- Restart the computer, printer, and router.
- Check the network and printer connection status.
- Manually connect the printer to your network.
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer.
- Uninstall the HP driver and software.
- Reinstall the HP software.
Click here to refer the document and perform troubleshooting steps mentioned above to fix this issue.
(Note: Though the title of the document is different, these steps should fix the issue.)
Let me know how it goes.
I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,
Please mark this post as a solution accepted and Kudos would also be appreciated.
Cheers.

Hi SandyTech20,
I've already done these with no success. The problem seems to be that the printer had the wireless options ( including wireless direct printing ) turned off and there seems no easy way to run initial setup for the printer again.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Doug

Hi! @Clearafin, I am the MrRobot. It looks like you were interacting with @sandytechy20, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
I understand you still have issues after trying out the steps.
Please try the steps mentioned below to reset the network settings to defaults.
1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the
Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).
2. Touch Network Setup.
3. Touch Restore Network Settings.
A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.
4. Touch Yes.
5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.
Refer the printer manual to know more information.
Hope this helps!
Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂

Hi MrRobot, Thanks for the reply but when i get to the setup page i have no option for network set up - it's like it's been disabled.
Is there any way I can reset this printer to the initial set up screen.
Thanks
Doug

@Clearafin, It's been great to hear from you again.
I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
As you mentioned you still don't get an option for network setup after restoring the network to defaults.
Please try performing a semi full reset on your printer and check if it helps.
Since the steps to perform semi full reset is confidential I will send you the steps in a private message, please watch your inbox for more information.
Let me know how it goes!
Have a pleasant day ahead! 🙂
