My problem is the same as described above.  The error is my printer can't be found, no matter how it is connected to the WIN 7 64bit PC; by USB, Wired, or wireless.  When network connected the printer is detected on the network.   The HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.0 finds the printer on the second try, and it downloads and runs the complete installer suite, but there is no way to get the installer to recognize the C6180 printer.  I was able to print a test page, so some of the software is installed, but any functions from the printer that require interaction with the PC, such as scan to PC will fail.  Can anyone help ??

@Breezyken

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand you are unable to install drivers for HP photo smart C6100 on the Windows 7 Home Premium,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you attempted a root level removal of the driver and then retried a fresh installation?

When was the last time it worked? have you attempted a system restore?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

And then install a fresh copy of the driver using the HP website: Click here to find it

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
