I got an error message PRINTER OFFLINE.  I am using a HP office jet 500 wireless and I have a Dell laptop that can only use Windows 8 (believe me, I've tried using windows 10 and I ended up paying for my laptop to be fixed.)

Help me, please, I'm trying to print right now!

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are getting a "printer offline" error on HP Officejet 4500. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Set the default printer and unpause printing.
  • Reset the printer and check the connection status.
  • Make sure the correct port is selected.
  • Reinstall the printer using HP Printer Assistant.

Click here for further troubleshooting steps.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help,

Please click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up".

Let me know how you make out.

Cheers!
