Hi all I am hoping someone can help me with this issue I am having.
I have a user who works from from all the time. They had to replace their printer and got the HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M377. They use a company laopt which is on our domian and they VPN into our network then for some of there work RDC to a server running Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit. It from this server they are not able to print on the local printer at home which is conencted via USB.
The easyprint drivers do not work with this printer so I made sure I got the correct drivers and instaslled them on the server. When we retarted the RDP session the printer appears as it should but when we printer I can see the pritn job get created on the server and then this gets passed to the local computer and you can see the spooler open and the print job appears in there and says it printing but the printer does nothing.
So to confirm I have:
1. checked the drivers match on the computer and server.
2. on the RDP setting on the lcoal computer under local resources printers are selected.
3. on the server the setting at correct to allow local printer through and redirects.
4. permissions are correct.
5. stop and started the printer spooler and cleared the printer folder out.
6. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.
7. I have tried the HP universal drivers.
8. I even read some where to untick bidirectional support under the port settings but this is already like this.
I just cannot find out why when RDP to the server the print jobs will go from the server to the local computer and it just sit ithere in the print queue and does noting.
I did forgot to say the printer does work 100% fine when printing locally.
I think the issue might be how the print job is sent from the server to the local printer and something is being lost so when the print job gets to the local printer there is some missing so it doe snot know how to print the job.
Any help would be great.
