Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've got an Officejet Pro 8600 where the front flap of the output extender has snapped off. After researching online, it isn't clear to me whether or not this part is replaceable. I found this thread on the forums where HP support seemed to indicate that it was replaceable, but did not provide very good details on how the replacement could be done. I also found this thread which seems to indicate that the part is not replaceable. Online reviews also seem split on the matter. I have found at least one vendor selling the part, so it would make sense to me that it is in fact replaceable.

Is there any consensus on this?

Hey there! @talbiz, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you would like to know how to remove the paper tray extender and output tray from your printer.

Don't worry I would like to help.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Are you able to make a copy from your printer?

Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?

As you mentioned the output tray extender has snapped off from your printer and you needed to if this part is replaceable.

I have checked the printer specifications and you cannot remove the paper tray extender or the output tray from your printer as these parts are integrated into the printer.

And the parts on an HP printer are not customer replaceable. You have to contact HP support for service options.

You can only lift the output tray from the printer and you cannot remove it.

Refer the printer user guide to know more information. Link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03026243

Note: Refer page 108 for more information.
