Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I run Windows 10.  My HP Officejet Pro 8610 will only SCAN and save as a PDF file.  I do not want the PDF as I cannot encrypt these files.  How can I get it to SCAN ans save as a Word document?

Hi,

Please scan from Word  such as Word 2007 and above:

or from OCR software such as:

I believe your printer has a similar OCR software which automatically converts scanned text to editable text:

and you can import to Word.

Regards.

if you scan a document you get an image which is not editable.

you need OCR tools for this. Try OCR PDF to Word for example, it helped a lot in my case.
