Have used P1102w wirelessly for a few years before moving to a new location with different wireless router. Printer was originally setup on same computer using Windows 8. After installation was upgraded to Windows 10.
At new location trying to setup new to new wireless router and when I use USB cable to connect printer to computer the HPSmartInstall drive opens but will almost immediately close. If I am fast I can click on HPSmartInstall but by the time I give permission to run it you can hear the tone corresponding to a USB being disconnected and I get a error box stating:
G:\SISetup.exe
The specified path does not exist.
Check the path, and then try again.
I can unplug the USB cable and plug back in and each time is only shows up in the directory for a few seconds before disappearing.
I am running under my personal profile which has administrator privileges.

Hi,
Connect the printer with a USB, then launch the following utility:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL53550/lj-129224-1/LJP1100_P1560_P1600_SI_Utility.exe
Follow the steps on screen to disable Smart Install.
If you are suggested with the option to control both the PC and Printer, disable it for both.
If it is already disabled when selecting PC, Select Enable and then Disable again.
Unplug the USB and install the latest drivers below, be sure not to plug the USB till the installation asks doing so:
Regards.
