How can I set my HP PhotoSmart 6520e so it will send a scanned document directly to the printer?

Bill,

You made me smile today!  I have waited for years for someone to ask me this question and you finally did.  Thank you!  It is truly tricky and I knew one day someone would ask.  I think you are doing a great job if you are able to navigate the forums at that age.  I really appreciate your efforts here and I am happy to help!  Have a great weekend. 🙂

Are you saying you want to scan a document into your computer and at the same time it print your scan? I am not trying to be smart when I say this but If you just want to print a scan wouldn't that be a copy?  Or are you saying you have an older scan on your computer and you want to print it?

What is the operating system of your computer (ex. Windows 7, Windows XP, Mac OS, etc) you are scanning to?

Maybe if you could reword your question for me a little better I would be more than happy to help.  I'm not sure you can do what you are asking.  You have settings within the printer like Scan to Computer, Scan to Email, and Scan to Network folder but there will never be an option to Scan to Printer because that is the same thing as making a copy. 🙂

Thank you for your comments.  I think my 80 year old brain let me down.  It was probably influenced by the instructions which stated "Scan to computer or Scan to email,   I was looking for Scan to printer.

Of course, Copy means the same thing but I did not make the connection.

Thank you for bringing  my brain back into reality.   Bill

I have the same question but am able to provide details for you:

I have a Canon LIDE 210 flatbed scanner, complete with its own software. I wish to scan images, NOT save them, but print them directly to my HP OfficeJet 6500 color printer.  This CAN be done if you persevere through the not-so-intuitive directions and there are FAR too many steps. There is also a MAJOR flaw that I'd like to see addressed:

My need is to scan the image, manipulate the output size, resolution, crop it, change the contrast and brighteness, boost the color, etc. BEFORE it goes to the printer. (much like Adobe Photoshop will do).

HP made an old TWAIN flatbed scanner that allowed you to do all of that directly to the printer after making the image adjustments in a preview screen, but the new scanners make you save the images before you send them to the printer. I don't WANT to save the images. I want to have a preview screen where I can essentially do all the things I mentioned, save those actions as a much-used profile, then simply scan, manipulate, and print. There is no printer icon on the preview screen, either. Dumb.

It appears that once again HP fixed what wasn't broken in their old big flatbed TWAIN scanner.

So if anyone has

Sorry, I didn't finish my last sentence. Meant to say that if anyone has any ideas how to do this perhaps using other software, or tell me what I'm missing in the existing software, it would be much appreciated. Thanks, and hoping.....

The situation is when I scan at one station to have it printed at another station as the person at the recieving station only knows something is sent when it is printed. If it is stored on the drive, it may never be looked at.

That is the situation of Scan to printer.
