HP OJ Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I performed a successful scan. Then I received a pop-up from HP asking if I wanted to know my warranty status. I clicked Yes; it reeported warranty had expired. Attempted to scan my next document, and it was extremely light and illegible. Ran Print/Scan Doctor, which reported scanning was ok. Next I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer. Attempted scan again with same result; scan appeared even fainter. Ran Print/Scan Doctor again and received good report, but another faint, illegible scan printed out.
