For my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, I once enjoyed the ability to scan to e-mail. Unfortunately, I had to reinstall everything because the printer wasn't picking up my network or vice-a-versa. We're now up and running using the network, but my scan to e-mail is not functional -- getting error messages both on the utilities test through my computer and on the printer. Scan to computer is working. I've historically been using the port 25 setting for my comcast e-mail account and have now tried 465 and 587, both to no avail. Any ideas? Many thanks!

Hello Jebster-
Do you have your comcast email account linked to Outlook or Live ??
Double click the printer icon and open our software. (Printer Assistant)
run the Scan to Email Wizard. Use the settings below :
Enter smtp.comcast.netin the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field.
- Enter your Comcast ID in the Account Name field. (Type your Comcast ID as seen on the left side of the @ symbol in your email address. For example, if your email address is johndoe@comcast.net, type in johndoe.) In the Password field, enter your password. Check the Remember Password box if needed.
- Under Outgoing Mail (SMTP), check the box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
- Enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
- check the box next to My server requires authentication
save and test.
Let me know if this helps.
