I am trying to scan to my computer using an Officejet 8600. It's an office printer, so I don't have any of the intial software or set up instructions. I downloaded HP utility online and am able to print documents.
When I click "scan" on the screen of the printer it instructs me to open HP Utility, go to Scan to Computer and then click enable. On my HP Utility I don't even have the "Scan to Computer Settings" I just have Scan to E-mail and Scan to Network Folder (neither of which work).
PLEASE HELP - I have searched all over the internet/HP website all afternoon for help with this AND tried calling to talk directly to someone in customer service/support but was directed back to the HP website.

Hi @paloma628,
Yes, we are trying to help.
Can you try this:
From the Applications folder delete any existing HP Scan or HP Easy Scan or HP Utility app.
Delete HP Scan or HP Easy Scan or HP Utility by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.
Ensure the latest software is installed, use this link for your printer:
http://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/identify?q=officejet+pro+8600&tool=s-002#Z7_3054ICK0...
Select your printer model, Operating System and download & install the HP Easy Start.
After install, check on the HP Utility, the Scan to Computer should be there.
Hope that helps!
