I recently upgraded my computer from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 7 (64). Under XP I used HP Director which allowed me to scan a document and save it as a PDF.
Now when I select Scan my choices for save fomat are BMP JPEG TIFF & PNG but no PDF.
How can I create a PDF file when scaning under Window 7 (64)

Hi,
Thank you for contacting HP forums
I understand that you have an HP Officejet 7310 and you are not able save as PDF,I'll do my best to help you with this case.
Steps to be done.
1. you have to uninstall printer drivers under control panel and remove printer icons from devices and printer.
2. Since you have upgraded your windwos from XP to 7, i request you to download drivers from the link
3. After uninstall restart computer
4. install the downloaded software with on screen instructions and that will give you full features to scan as PDF.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. Cheers! Smiley Happy

Please try this scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
For Windows: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Make searchable PDF scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/
