Scanjet 5590
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Today when I tried to scan in some photos, the preview looked perfect, but when I opened the files in Photo Shop, the image was totally black.    Is there a fix for this?

Shortly after I posted the message above, I got a "private message" to call Tech Support at 1-887-210-0840.  I thought that there was a fix for this, maybe a new driver.

I called.  The first time, I was told there was no one to take my call.  The second time I got a man who barely spoke English.  He just said take the scanner to the service center and hung up.

I don't think it is a hardware problem, for when I connected an old Windows laptop to the scanner, it worked perfectly.  There is something wrong between the Scanner and Mac OS Sierra.

Please come up with a fix!
