Hi All. I recently replaced my computer system - both the old and new machines are running Windows 10 (the new machine has the 64-bit version / I don't know whether the old machine was 32-bit or 64-bit). My Scanjet G4050 worked fine on the old machine, although I occasionally received an error message instructing me to unplug the scanner, wait 60 seconds, and plug it back in (once or twice, I had to go as far as uninstalling and reinstalling the Scanjet driver). I have been trying to use my scanner on my new machine for about 2 weeks now.

I have carefully followed the instructions in the thread "Scanjet G4050 Current softeware 140_220 not seeing the device". I uninstalled all scanning and printing drivers, rebooting and restarting the machine each time. I installed the Scanjet driver (setup_full_G4050_140_222) and then installed the Photosmart C5160 driver (AIO_CDA_FSW_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5).

Every time I attempt to scan, the scanner starts, makes the first two sets of whirring noises as if it's starting to scan, and then it generates an error message instructing me to uninstall and reinstall the device and to reinstall the Photosmart software. The extended error information is: 4,[0,7,80004005),(2,6,80040005),(3,6,0)].

Can anyone help me get my scanner working?
