Scanned document prints too light

When I scan a document to PDF, the print quality is compromised. I am scanning the document to my PC. I select my Dell laser printer for printing the document. The printed page looks like my printer is low on ink. I can print any other file directly from my PC to my Dell laser printer and the print quality is fine. It seems that only when I scan a document, the print quality is poor. Do I need to adjust some settings? The issue started when I upgraded to Windows 10, but that may just be coincidental.

Correct / Edit the image before the scan

Whether this is possible using your Dell Laser Printer software is unknown.

Update / Reinstall your printer Software

In general, and in particular for HP Printer software, after the computer is migrated to a different Operating System, the printer software must be uninstalled, reboot system, download and install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software.

Alternative Scan Programs

There are scan program alternatives available for recent versions of Windows that allow simple editing of the image / document prior to the actual scan.

HP Scan Extended is an exceptional program which may work on your system.

NAPS2 is another nice scan program that provides some nice features.
