I have tried many times to scan documents to save as PDF's, however when it is scanned and transfers to the screen in 'My Documents', a message comes up saying that it needs to change to a Word document and will take a while to change.  When it is finished and I look at the document, a lot of the print is missing, the borders of the tables are all over the place and so is some of the text.  I am running a business and cannot have this happening all the time.

I used to use a HP Envy 5530 and it did the same thing, and still  have it here next to me gathering dust. I am currently very disappointed with both of these HP machines and will never buy another, but will go back to Canon as their machines always work.

Any help would be apprecaited.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you select Save as PDF, it should be scanning and saving what you put on the scanner to scan and it should appear "As is" without the need to convert to Word.  The workflow you described seems wierd and not what we have experienced during our scanning.

Please watch this example:

Scanning multiple pages using the ADF and Scan Glass

Hope that helps!

Thanks for responding Greenturtle.

My son came over and helped me.  I have recently got a new computer and will all my programs on it I did not notice that Adobe had not been installed so thats why my documents were coming out all crazy.  All fixed now, thank you!!

I'd had Adobe on the old computer too, so i must go check if the Envy 5530 is OK to use before I bin it (its only been used 3 or 4 times, or i could keep it and use as a photocopier). LOL
