Hi,

Please try

  • Double click printer icon on desktop,
  • Select Scan a Document or Photo,
  • Put the first page on the glass (face down),
  • Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
  • Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
  • Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
  • Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
  • Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
  • Click Done after Save

Regards.

Unfortunately this does not work for me.

Immediately after scanning the first page, it goes immediately to the file save dialog - no chance to click anything.

Also, there is no "red X" or "+" anywhere to be seen.

I DO have the advanced setting "Create a separate file for each scanned page" UNchecked.

This does not work for me either.  There is no + sign.

I still have not seen a working solution for this seemingly simple issue.  I now have a 10-page document

to scan which is going to be either very convenient to view at the other end or a tedious session with my

PDF editor.

I hope you already found the solution but just in case:  I feel your pain! What is the point in having a scanner that cannot scan multiple pages?!

HP Deskjet 1510:

From initial "Scan Dialog" page select "Restore Defaults".  This will return resolution dpi to 200. When you select "Scan" first page will be scanned and you will also see 'plus' and cancel boxes to left lower corner of scan dialog.  After first page is scanned (do not save yet!) place second sheet on scanner and hit 'plus' button.  When you have scanned all pages 'save as' and press "Done".

It works fine for 200dpi and 300dpi, but not for 600 or above.  300 is fine for most things that I scan, so this should be a good work-around.

I just wish I had known this a long time ago.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi,

Thanks for using the forum.

The following thread will explain why you're not able to scan at higher resolution with the Scan Glass:

"Add Scan pages" for resolution up to 300dpi only

Hope that helps.

Hi I am also having issues with this but the solutions provided do not work for me. I have the HP Deskjet 1510, previously I had this connected to an old windows vista pc and it worked fine, multiple scanning and double sided printing. Now I have just purchased a HP Spectre 360 with Windows 10 (fancy) but my Deskjet will not multiple scan or double sided print. As instructued here, no plus sign comes up and there is no Scan Diaglogue page and no option to Restore defaults...? It is already set to 200dpi. Please help for both issues. Thanks!

I noticed about a week ago that this issue seems to have magically resolved itself!

There is now both a "+" and "X" in the lower left corner and the scanner does not

go to the save dialog immediately after finishing the scan .

So it seems that either HP auto updated the scanner software on my computer

or Microsoft fixed some OS bug with one of their auto-updates of Win-7 Pro that

allowed this feature to begin working.

So those who have given up on multi-page scanning should try again.
