I have recently purchased an HP ENVY 5530 wireless printer for use with my iPad using the HP AIO ('All In One') software app from the i-Store.
I have a number of paper documents that I wish to scan in to electronic (PDF) format, most of which run in to multiple pages. However, each time I scan a page, the software creates a new PDF file, rather than one continuous electronic copy. I am finding this very frustrating as all I want is one single PDF file containing multiple pages.
Have read various message boards, forums, FAQs, but can't find any answers so would really appreciate any help anyone can give.
Thanks!

Hi Manxie,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you would like to learn how to scan multiple page documents with the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app.

I have included a link to another post that explains how to add additional pages to your scan.

Please let me know if you need any further help with the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app.

Thanks, but that creates a new PDF for each page that I scan. And what I want is one continuous PDF containing many pages. Any idea please?

Hi Manxie,

Thank you for the update.

I wonder if you are choosing to save after each page is scanned? If yes, that would be why each page is being created as a separate file. When you choose the add page icon and then confirm that you want to add a page (see screen shot below) it will return you to the preview/scan screen. I was able to scan 5 pages into one document this morning.

Thanks, but still no joy! Sorry.
When I click on Add Page, it gives me the multiple pages as I would have expected. But when I then click on Save, it creates a new folder with today's scan date it and then each scanned page is stored as a separate PDF file within the folder. I've clicked on everything I can see to try to change something, but just can't seem to solve.
Grateful for any further direction please.

Hi Manxie,

That is extremely perplexing. I’ve tried to recreate this and I can’t.

Would you please uninstall the HP AiO App, then please Turn your iOS device off and on (restart), then please reinstall the HP AiO App?

Thank you.

Nope, no joy!
Tried uninstall, reboot, reinstall. Twice. But still didn't work.
Each scanned page was saved into entirely separate PDF files within a folder.
Can't find any options to change.
I must be missing something, but I don't know what or where.
Grateful for ANY help at all....
Thanks.

Hi Manxie,

Thank you for the update.

We have exhausted all the trouble shooting for the app. At this point I would suggest contacting Apple support. I’ve included the Apple iPad Support Contact page with all your support options.

Please let me know what happens as I’m curious as to what setting is causing this issue.

One last thing before I give up and throw the printer out.
My wife has an iPhone, so I've just installed the AIO app on there. Tried the multiple page scan again on there and got EXACTLY the same result (a folder with today's date in it, plus three separate sub files, each containing a single page PDF scan).
Could it be something on the printer??

Hi Manxie & happytohelp01,

I've been following your conversation because I have the same problem!

I don't have such a fancy AIO as you; mine is a humble hp Deskjet Ink Advantage 3525...!

I haven't tried to e-Print yet but even using my PC, I couldn't save multiple scans into a single file.

Like you, Manxie, I missed the rather feint "add page" icon but still couldn't do it with multiple scans; happytohelp01, would you pass on my suggestion: "make the icon more pronounced - bigger & darker so that we can see it, particularly since I unticked the box "Create a separate file for each scanned page" in the HP Scan > Advanced Settings... > File tab".

On the HP site (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03466081 I found a solution (if you can call it that!!).

The instructions say: "Note: Scanning additional pages is supported at 300 dpi or lower."

I had been trying to scan at 600 dpi, because that's what I use at work.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards and Good Luck!

Chris.
