I am looking for a cloud enabled all in one, that my elderly, no so tech savvy mother, could copy/scan photos of various sizes. Ideally, I would like to be able to have it so that every time she turns it on and scans something, that it automatically saves it to the cloud; she does have wifi and a HP Chromebook, but is not at all proficient with the HP Chromebook. She does have an older all in one that she is able to use for the occasional need to copy an important document or something. I am assuming that there is something out there that can do this without having a computer connected to it. I was considering the HP Inkjet 250 portable, because of it’s compactness, but would consider something larger if the benefits warrant.

Hello, @Herman63 – Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others.

I understand that you are purchasing an All-in-One printer for your mother who uses a Chromebook. I am not a sales person, hence I cannot help you with the purchasing part of the machine. I just came across your post and wanted to share some thoughts about scanning using the Chromebook 🙂

Since we do not have any designated printer drivers for Chromebook, you either need to use the “Webscan” feature of your printer or need to use the Google Drive app on your printer control panel to save scanned documents to your Google Drive account. You can learn more about the scan using the Google drive app from here: http://hp.care/2kHXm1b

The web-scan is done by going into the printer EWS page on your PC. Check http://hp.care/2epxl80 for a YouTube video where it explains this way of scanning (Do not worry about the title, its same for all the operating systems)

PS: Here are some of the All-in-One printers in HP store: http://hp.care/2kI4udQ

Please let me know if this works for you or if you require further assistance.

Cheers 🙂
