I just bought the HP Photosmart All in One D110 printer. I can now print wirelessly from my PC to the printer. However if I try to check for product updates or enable web services I get this error:
Server Connection Error. There was a problem connecting to the Server. Press Retry to connect again or OK to exit.
I found one support document that told me to print out the network configuration page to get the printer's IP address and type that into a browser to check for a connection to the Embedded Web Server. Thats successful.
Another document suggested getting the proxy address from my PC and entering that onto the Network tab of the Embedded Wed Services page. When I check my PC settings I dont have any proxy address listed.
Additionally I am trying to print from my ipad2. From what I can tell this printer is on the supported air print printers list but when i try to print from the ipad it cant find the printer.
Not sure what to try from here.

Thanks for replying. I ran the Home Network Diagnostics Utility and got a message that the computer had a wireless connection to the network, it gave the network name, and said the computer was connected to the internet.
Then it scanned for printers and found mine. It checked the firewall and found my Symantec firewall. I disabled that and reran the utility to confirm it no longer saw it. Confirmation message says that the printer is connected to the network and the serivces related to the network connections have been verified and reset to a normal operatinf state and that everything appears to be fine. Then I tried again to do a Product Update and Enable Web Services on the printer and I still get the server connection error. Printing wirelessly from the computer still works fine.
In the online help for the firewall troubleshooting it also suggested setting a manual IP address. I did that, shut down the printer, reset the router. Again Product Update and Enable Web Services fail but printing from the computer still works ok.
I also downloaded the HP Print Diagnostics Utility and it does not detect any issues.

Let's set a static IP address for the printer, but this time with a special DNS server:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can find the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page or in its manual. Use the CD that came with your router or type the router's IP address (ends in .1) into a browser.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS. Enter 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

OK, there have been issues associated with some firmware updates from Netgear. Is your firmware updated for the router?

I am not sure what versions and it varies by model. The best way to check is to go the router interface:
- Using a web browser, type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the Google bar).
- The login is 'admin' and the password is 'password'.
- On the first page it should immediately start looking for new firmware automatically. Just wait for it.
