I need to purchase and replace the carriage belt in my DesignJet 800PS large format printer. Where can I find the new part and a service manual to help with installation instruction?

Best suggestion I can give you is to do a google search for the service manual. It is out there. As to the belt you can purchase from hp part, keeping in mind that it comes in both 24" and 42" sizes. You can also do a google search for the belt as it is sold on the net. If you get an original replacement HP belt pay close attention to the way the original is fixed onto the carriage since the treads of the belt are different for each half as one goes over the motor shaft and the other over the pulley and they have different treads. Good Luck.

Hi chuckritter,
I found the part numbers for the belts for DesignJets 500 and 800 series.
Belt (24" Model Only) - C7769-60182
Belt (42" Model Only) - C7770-60014
I will see if I can find the service manual for the steps.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
Mike

I came over from the Enterprise Support Forums. Over there we are not allowed to provide links to the Service Manuals since it is against HP rules since manuals are for authorized individuals only. That is why I suggest a google search since they are out there but I do not want to break any of hp rules. I am suprised someone from HP would offer to find the manual.

I was able to find the service manual, but you're right, it's not public. What I was offering was to find the steps in the service manual and type them out here, but I didn't anticipate the steps to be so long and there were lots of screenshots involoved. I wouldn't have been able to do it.
So I agree with your recommendation in using google to search for it. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help.
