Hello vfever,
Please try the below steps that should help you print in duplex ..
-Load the paper into the input tray. Make sure it is Letter size paper.
-Open the document that you want to print.
-Click File, and then click Print.
-Click Properties.
On the Layout tab, click the drop-down list for Print on Both Sides, and then click Flip on Long Edge for portrait
orientation () or Flip on Short Edge for landscape orientation
-Click OK.
-Change any other desired print settings.
-Click Print or OK. Your printer prints on both sides of the page for the current print job.

The only 2-sided setting I am aware of on the printer itself is under the Copy menu. I believe print jobs get this strictly from the print driver as defined in the response above.

Hello,
Under COPY Meny you have two sided option. If enabled, the printer would make a 2-Sided copy.
But if you want to print a two side document using a computer, you may have to make change the driver settings. Please refer to my earlier post.

Just installed HP ENVY 7645 with all the HP Printer Drivers. The printer will print 2 sided copies from my Windows 7 PC perfectly BUT will ONLY print 1 sided when I try to copy directly from the control panel on the printer (with the two sided 1->2 option set.)
Printer scans one side of the document to be copied, pauses with output 1/2 way out and then when side 2 of original is loaded printer prints a blank side 2 on the copy but fails to scan side 2 of the original. Suggested solutions?

According to HP support copying 2 sided document to 2 sided copy can only be performed from the flatbed scanner NOT from the Auto Document Feeder. (1->2 sided copy will only work with ADF if 2 seperate one sided originals.)
User manual should point this out this 2 sided copy restriction characteristic .....
