I rigorously applied all detailed steps, even the additional steps added by some members, but all of no avail though I encountered no difficulty in following the proposed steps. The EWS renders the notice that the networkfile cannot be found. My MacBook Pro runs 10.5.8.

Is there still any hope left to solve my problem?

Hi @walterke,

I see that you are experiencing issues setting up the Scan to Network Folder. I would be happy to help you.

The network path would most likely be different on the 10.5 computer.

Make sure you are only entering the IP and the Sharename of the folder. eg. //192.168..../scan.

Not the the path of the folder. eg. //192.168.../users/john/documents/scan.

You can check out this post from  @y27, to see if it may help. mfp 276 - scan to network folder -os x 10.6.8 -pictorial essay.

If you are still having issues, I would suggest to contact Apple for further assistance for setting up the Network folder and getting the proper path.

Hello Gemini02.
I've tried literally everything to get that printer saving a scan to a specific networkfile on my MacBook, to no avail. What disappoints me with HP is that I tried the thing out on a friends same printer,
linked to a windowssystem computer. On that machine, absolutely nothing had been installed, and the scan was transferred automatically to the 'documents'-file. Quite frustrating.
Thanks you anyway for yr efforts.

hi walterke

do you by any chance have a special character in your password?  i know it sounds silly, but i had exactly the same problem as you and could only solve it when i tried another user on my macbook which did not have a special character in its password.

i experienced the same problem when trying to set up  a remote HP printer to connect to my Wlan over Wifi.  the wifi password contained a special character and the printer could not connect whatever i tried. when i changed the pass of the wifi it worked faultlessly.  would hp have a problem with special characters when talking to apple devices?.

good luck.

PS:  i made it work via a tcp ip address, but since i am using dhcp i want to change the address to the computername.  searching ...
