M602
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have had this problem with previous M602.  Pages get ink marks at random on pages.  I have replaced toner still not luck.

Previous printer was under warranty and they replaced.  I tried fuser on previous model didn't help.  Print under adobe reader dc can software be problem?  Sometimes feels like toner not set on paper these spots can appear in mutiple location on page.  Next page could be ok but other pages will be this way.  Usually print 100 pages at time.IMG_2980.JPG

I have seen a problem similar to this with a customer that uses non-OEM cartridges. If the toner is not adhereing fully to the paper, that could indicate a potential problem with the fuser. Usually, fuser defects will have some type of repeating pattern. When things happen that are random, it could also be a voltage issue. Possibly from a hardware problem within the printer or a problem with the power supplying the printer.

You also may want to consider a firmware update.

just select the appropriate operating system.

Are you plugging the printer directly into the wall? If you are using a battery backup or power strip, you probably want to plug the printer directly into the wall outlet. If it is plugged directly into the wall, you may want to move it onto an outlet that is on a different circuit breaker.

Fuser, powersupply, DC controller, formatter would be the most likely suspects.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.

wired directly into wall and orginial hp toner bought directly from HP.  Will try firmware.

If the fuser was causing that problem you would probably have every page showing up in the defect.

Is the problem happening on plain 20 pound paper? That's the stuff in a regular everyday ream of paper.

Yes just on regular paper maybe more on legal size paper.  Could print 100 pages no problem then later on day have problem with 20 out of 100 pages.

Could it be i might not be getting enough voltage off the outlet?  Used heavy duty extention cord to other outlet no on same circuit seems work better.

Hi

This seems to be a fuser issue, problem you are having is the unit is not getting hot enough so some of the toner is remaining on the fuser, you can try to set the unit to a thicker paper and see if that helps, but I would suggest replacing the fuser.
