I updated my operating system from Windows 7 Home 64 bits to Windows 8.1 pro 64 bits, and when trying to re-install my HP Officejet J4580 all-in-one printer's software and driver I get all kinds of errors. It was working perfectly on Windows 7.

The most common error I get is: System cannot find the file specified "[path]\hpzshl.ice_suffix..exe", and the installation aborts.

I've tried many solutions from these forums and from the HP support website, but my problem is still there.

I already tried the lengthy solution shown here:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Install-Error-quot-The-system-cannot-f...

and

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04206080

I even found the directory where the installation was unpacked and copied it to the Desktop, but the error persisted.

I need the full featured software because I need to use the scanner in my Officejet printer, so, I cannot settle for just the printing drivers.

I need desperate help on getting this working again.

Computer specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4820K Quad-Core 3.70 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011

MEMORY: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1866MHz Quad Channel Memory

Printer: HP Officejet J4580 All-in-one; connected via USB

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bits

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

I finally solved this by myself after many hours of pain.

I clean up any HP installations from my computer using the HP Officejet Software and Driver Removal Utility:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-110151-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...

After restarting the computer, I moved to the desktop the unpacked installation directory that the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows had previously downloaded and launched.

I deleted all files from the %temp% directory.

I turned off McAfee antivirus real-time scanning as well as Windows Deffender.

I ran setup.exe in the installation directory in my desktop.

The installation ran smoothly and completed. I already tested the printer and all features work normally.

I hope these steps help someone with similar troubles to get the software installed.
