I am hoping someone can help, we have a DesignJet T520 36in which failed a few months ago. It was 14 months old when it failed and unfortunately it was only covered by 12month warranty (a mistake I will not make again!).
The printer no longer works, it powers up, it boots up but the display then goes to a blue screen with error code 005A1654.
I'd like to know if it is possible to repair the plotter, if so, what spare parts are required and where to source them?
Its a shame to have to scrap such a machine and I'd at least like to have it as a backup to my newer HP plotter.
Any help and advice is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Alex

Further to my earlier post, I read about pushing the power button 3 x times.
I have done this, powered the machine back up and now I have a new error code! B87E3788
I'm guessing the printer is very poorly...

Please purchase USB dongle which is connected with main PCA, you may purchase from hp parts for USB 25.00 which is the way I would first go since it is a lot cheaper then the main board which comes with the same drive. The part number is CQ890-67105.
Just go to the link below and put the part number in to order.

Please search service manual from google and check the replacement process of USB dongle.
Please let me know if you have questions.
Please give me thumbs and accept my answers.

Hey,
I am sorry for your frustratioon...something similar happened to me once (i do not recall the error number) but i was under extended warranty and phone support guided me to boot it up in diagnostics mode and concluded that the printer needed a new printhead. Once the new printhead was installed, everything was back to normal again.
