Hi @NMLMAB,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I read your post and see that you are trying to save a scan as a TIFF file. I would like to help you out today.
When you load up the HP Scan Software, you should have option over on the right hand side called Destination, click on the drop down under file and select Tiff.
Here is a documentation for HP LaserJet Multifunction Printers - How to Scan.
Let me know what operating system you are using. How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Please let me know the outcome. Thank you.

Thank you!
My choices under DESTINATION--FILE TYPE are PDF or Searchable PDF. How do I get TIFF as a choice?
Also, I called HP yesterday and the technician told me to call the TIFF Corporation for the answer. I knew that could not be correct.

Hi @NMLMAB,
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
I have provided a screen shot of what the File Type options should be available.
You may have to uninstall and reinstall the printer software since all the options aren't not available to you.
Here is the link to the latest drivers: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw.
Please keep me posted. Thank you.

Hello Gemini02,
I tried your option of uninstalling and reinstalling the software from the installation disc. Same problem.
My technology support department found a newer version online and installed that. That did the trick! I can now scan TIFF files. And I have all the options of the screen shot you sent me.
We scanned TIFF and PDF files and compared the MB. For some reason my PDF files are still extremely large, even with the dpi set at 200. Any thoughts on that?

Hi @NMLMAB,
Thanks for letting me know that you have the option to scan as a Tiff file now, after installing the latest drivers.
As for the PDF document being too large, I would try changing the DPI.
From the scanning software, click on More and change the DPI to 75, to see if that will help.
Hope that helps. Thank you.
