Hi,

 

TWAIN is a standard that specifies how scanners (and other devices, such as digital cameras) transfer information to software. It allows different software applications to work with different devices TWAIN is not an acronym.

Eg: If both the scanner and the software are TWAIN-compliant, the two should work together regardless of manufacturers.
