The service could not be contacted. Make sure the service is started before running the client. The client will be closed.

10.3.90613 - 2008 R2 server

i have restarted the services, restarted the server, deleted the 2.0 folder under userprofile\appdata\local\apps\2.0 on my local box. same outcome.

looks like i got this resolved. i had to add the HPWJAService.exe to allowed programs to communicate through Windows Firewall. this service will show up in your list as "CoreService".

for the heck of it i also added LaunchWJA.

Both .exe files are located at

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Web Jetadmin 10\bin\LaunchWJA.exe
