HP Officejet 4500 Wireless All
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I can't use the scanner. I managed to get the printer working with a USB cable connecting directly. Then I added network connectivity and it's working OK. However I can't use the scanner because when trying to install the sotfware from the CD or the web I get an error message:

This computer doesn't have the necessary USB software support to allow  completion of a USB installation.

Hey there! @gcabezas10, Welcome to HP forums

I understand that when you try to install the software from CD or from the web your get error computer doesn't have the necessary USB software support to allow completion of a USB install.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Please try the steps recommended below.

Click the Start button and type %temp% into the search bar, then open the shown Temp folder.
Open the latest HP installation folder which begins with 7z (e.g. 7zs1234)
Open the Setup folder.
Locate the usbready.exe file and rename it into usbready.old.exe
Browse back to the main extraction folder (the folders who starts with 7z) and launch the Setup.exe file.

Let me know if this works!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
