Officejet Pro 8600, Windows op system

just installed Tray 2.  It will not recognize that it has paper.  Constantly says tray is empty.

Tried changing trays between 1 and 2.  The new tray worked fine in tray 1 slot.

I also have tried the above and have the same problem. will not print from Tray 2 unless Tray 1 is empty. defeats the purpose of 2 trays?

Have you selected TRAY 2, as your DEFAULT tray on your PRINTER.

1. Press setup menu on the printer
2. Choose Preferences
3. Choose Default TRAY
4. Select tray 2

Let me know what happens, thanks.
