I have an HPLJ 1102W and I want to use it as a wired printer on my LAN. The trouble is, the easy setup utility is geared toward wireless networking and the ethernet interface will not get a DHCP address from the LAN. In order to get an IP address, I have to go through the wireless networking configuration settings. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to use this printer as a wired network printer?

thanks,

The LaserJet 1102w does not support standard ethernet connection, it only supports USB and Wifi (802.11B/G). You need to have a wireless network infrastructure in order to use this printer as a network device.

@Honor Student, The Laserjet 1102W can be connected via USB to a computer and then accessed across a network if you have rights to that computer.

I work at a small company and we have two 1102W printers, one connected to a computer that runs my IC, Ion Chromatagraph and I print to that from my ICP, Inductively Coupled Plasma, computer.  We also have a 1102W conncected to the computer that runs the HPLC, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography.  But for the life of me I cannot remember how I set them up and need to relaearn the process.

My lap partner just got a Windows 10 computer and my boss hooked him up to a slow Canon color printer located up in the front office.  And my lab partner imediately decided to print out multiple CarFax reports of the same car in full color not knowing what he was doing.

I hit the wall of limited choices of installation.  I should be able to share the printer over our network, but Windows did not find the printer or computer, worst case I will physically move the printer to my lab partner's computer and install the drivers as a USB, move the printer back to the HPLC and then search the network for the printer or computer again.
