I am trying to set up my OfficeJete Pro 8710 for first time use. Using the Wireless Wizard Setup on my printer touchpad, I was able to connect printer to my wireless network. I confirmed that wireless light is steady solid light. I have confirmed that the printer is connected to same wireless network name as my laptop. I have also confirmed printer has assigned IP address and host name.
When I try to setup the connection between my Dell laptop, running Windows 10, and my printer I get a message "Unable to Find Device" after I am asked for printers IP address or host name. I have tried IP address and host name and neither work.
I have ran the HP Print and Scan doctor with the same result.
I have tried to set up a connection with USB and ethernet and computer couldnt find printer on either.
I have tried powering off computer, router, and printer and restarting.
I have tried uninstalling HP software from computer and reinstalling.
I don't have a firewall other than the Windows Defender Firewall and I have confirmed that the HP OfficeJet apps and features are allowed access through firewall.
So, this is my last shot. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you!!

There are a few things I would check: touch the wireless button on the front panel to bring up the wireless status information. Note the printer's IP address and network SSID. From your browser put the printer's IP address in the address bar. Does this bring up the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS)?
If not then check the network SSID. If it is a generic name like Netgear or Linksys it is possible your printer is connecting to a neighbor's system rather than your own. Also check your IP address and compare it with the printer's IP address. They should have the first three sets of numbers match, perhaps 192.168.0. or something similar. The last set of numbers will be different. If the first three sets of numbers are different the printer is not connecting to your network. (You can find your computer's IP address as follows: open a command window and type IPCONFIG. This will list the IP address of your computer and some other information.)
