Hi, I am unable to change the printer colour options, I.e colour, b&w, greyscale, when printing via HP Smart on my iPhone and iPad. I was able to do this previously but the option has now disappeared and all documents previews show up as greyscale but print in colour. I think I was somehow able to set up a default to print greyscale but can now no
longer find that option. I have had a search of the forum and it appears other people have had this issue but I can’t find a solution, can anyone help???

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Change print settings on your iOS or iPadOS device.
-
On the HP Smart app home screen, tap the Print Document or Print Photo tile.
-
Select a document or photo you want to print from your mobile device.
The Preview screen displays.
-
Tap the preview image to edit the document or photo.
-
Tap Print.
The Print Preview screen displays.
-
Tap the image to access the Transformation menu where you can resize and rotate the image.
-
After you resize or rotate the image, tap Done to return to the Print Preview screen.
-
On the Print Preview screen, slide up the panel that displays the printer name above the print toolbar.
The available print settings display.
Depending on your printer features, you can set the number of copies, paper size, color option, page range, print quality, and specify the double-sided option.
-
Tap Print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for responding to my question. The colour option is no longer there when I swipe up on the print preview page. Also the preview image of the document I am printing displays in greyscale but prints in colour every time. Is there a way to set a default greyscale setting? When I print from a laptop there is an option to change the colour output but it has disappeared from the iOS app and also if I they to AirPrint from any of my Apple devices. From searching this forum there appears to be other users who have had this issue but I am yet to find a solution to it. Anymore help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for posting back.
Let's try printing with air print: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02623193
If that's fails just uninstall the HP smart app, next update the printer and phone software before installing HP smart app from Apple Store
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, I have followed the steps you suggested and still have the same issue. When I try and AirPrint there is no option to change colour output and the preview image is black and white. I still have the same issue when using the hp smart app, I.e. no option to change colour output and preview image is black and white. In both cases the image or document prints in colour. Is there a way I could have set black and white or grey scale in the printer setting or settings within my Apple devices?
