In another forum they list this question as SOLVED but I did no see any proposed solutions...just more people saying "mine too" and then disappearing...

I have a HP Deskjet 3050 J610 All-In-One printer. It's connected via Wi-Fi

I used to click on the "Setup" icon and the HP thing would come up, and after another click on the "Check the Ink Level" I would get the ink level oh both my #61 cartridges.

Then that particular function DISAPPEARED and there is nowhere to be found! No new HP software were added lately!!

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 (i5), running Windows 7 with all the latest updates.

(I still have the Disc...but better give me a link where the printer software can be REPAIRED by a download - I hate lenghthy re-installs!)

At this point I have two HP laptops, one All-in-One, and one Desk top.

Plus FIVE HP printers (today) and a HP FAX machine(!)...I'm sure I had another 6-8 printers in the past.

What I'm trying to say is that I trust HP...So, please do not disappoint me with your answer!

Thank you!

Hi @gcbakop

I understand that you are unable to read the ink levels from the printer. I can help you with this.

Try accessing the ink levels by going to Start > Programs> HP > HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series > HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series click Estimated Ink Levels. If this opens successfully, create a new shortcut to the desktop. Just right click on the HP Deskjet 3050 J610 from the programs list, select send to desktop.

You can check the ink levels on this model by printing a report page also.

Checking Ink Levels for HP Deskjet 3050 (J610a) All-in-One Printer Series.

There is a automatic tool called Print and Scan Doctor which you can download and save to the computer and can run this any time. Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.

Select Review additional hardware functions. It should provide the ink levels, diagnostics pages, aligning the printhead and cleaning the printhead options.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.

Thank you for your response Gemini02.

I forgot about the indicators on the printer itself...I saved the document as a PDF

When I go to Start > Programs> HP > HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series > HP Deskjet 3050 J610 series it opens this:

HP 3050 SetUp.jpg

I cannot see the "Estimated Ink Levels" tab, like I used to and I can still see on my wife's printer 😞

If you can suggest something from the shown picture, plz tell me!

Until then, I'll wait for the little lights on the printer to come on...

As for the  "HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows" it was an experience downloading it...But, it is till there and it is still useless!  (Coming from a geek like me, it means it is useless for a thinking person 😉

Thanks for providing that information and the screen shot gcbakop.

Did you print off the report to get the Ink Levels?

You are missing some of the HP software or it may have gotten corrupted.

We will have to uninstall and reinstall the printer software. I will try and make this a painless as possible. Smiley Happy

Uninstalling the Printer Software.

HP Deskjet 3050 All-in-One Printer - J610a Drivers.

Select your operating system, click next and click on the software to download and install.

Then test the printer and see if you can now access the Ink Levels.

Thank You.
