HP officejet 6600
Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

I installed a new 932XL black ink cartridge into my HP officejet 6600 printer.  I got a message of genuine HP ink cartridges installed.  I can not get this message to clear.  This prevents me from using any of the features of the printer.  How do I fix this.  The printer will still print from other devices but the message remains.

Hey there! @Jason_42, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand you are getting genuine HP ink cartridges installed message on the printer control and you are unable to clear it.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Try removing the ink cartridges from your printer and place it back again and check if the issue persists.

Also, Press the ok button on the printer control panel and check if it helps.

If the issue still persists try updating the printer firmware on your PC and check if it helps.

Link to update the printer firmware.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂
