Unable to use scan function on shared HP M1136 MFP through a computer over wifi

Hi 

I am using HP M1136 MFP. I have successfully connected the printer to a computer (MAIN computer) and print-scan-copy is working fine.

Now I have shared the printer (using windows sharing options) over the network. The network has 2 other computers (OTHER computer) conected. The printer is visible from the OTHER computers connected through the network and I am able to do the printing.

But I am unable to scan from OTHER computers though from the MAIN computer scanning is perfect.

How should I share the scan functionality of my printer over the network??

I have tried installing and uninstalling the drivers multiple times. Help Please!

Request you to let me know the solution once you find a solution.

I am facing the same problem and i am very irritated since last 3 days. 

Earlier I had a cannon 4400 series multi function printer it worked pretty well. Now this HP 1136 MFP seems to be a pain in the ass.

Hi,

Windows only offer files and printer sharing, sharing a USB scanner cannot be done via the File and Printer Sharing feature of the operating system.

To scan to multiple computers you will need a network device, a USB device only allow a such to a single computer.

Thanks Shlomi for your valuable time and reply.

But earlier I had Cannon MF 4400 series; and on that I could do the scanning using exactly the same configurations & share settings as I have done now.

So I wanted to confirm that if I was missing out on some drivers/software OR that Cannon model support this scanner sharing but HP does not?
