Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I know there is an HP 'Universal Printer Driver' for Windows 10 but it seems to be for lasers i.e. PCL5 & PCL6

and a PCL3 version for Windows RT

Is there one for PCL3 as used on many DeskJet and OfficeJet printers for Windows 10?

I need to connect up a number of old model printers that do not have a Windows 10 driver.

I realise that only basic printing will be supported, but all I need is to print text documents.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Chris

Hi Chris,

There is the HP PCL3 Class driver within Windows 10, that can be used as a generic driver.

Be aware that it will only work for USB connection if there are any sort of drivers for yoru pritner, otherwise it will fail to communicate with the printer, any PCL3 printer can be used with a such through the network.

What are the printer models?

Is there any sort of support listed below?

That list is contradicted elswehere on HP regarding HP 450 one of the printers I want use.

For the HP 450 I've found a way using David_882's answer at:

Two of the other printer we want to use are A3 1220 & 1280. Strangely the list above suggests the 1220 will work using 'Windows Update Driver' but not the later 1280
