Cannot print or scan to computer or fax  I need to reset printer HP Officejet 5746 back to factory settings. And reset printer in computer says network and I cannot change it to USB I do not want wireless.  I think it is not working because I have older computer and use Vista so wireless network will not work. Since it set to wireless I cannot print or scan or anything. GRR Thanks appreciate help!

I understand that you want to connect your HP OfficeJet 5746 e-All-in-One Printer via USB cable to your computer.

 

It’ll be a great pleasure to assist you with this.

 

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Download and Install a Driver for a USB Connection

 

If the software is already installed, then you can follow the steps provided below:

 

From the computer desktop,

 

1. Click Start, select All Programs, click HP, click the folder of your printer.

2. Click Printer Setup & Software, and then select Connect a new printer.

3. When the Connection Options software screen appears, select USB.

4. Select your HP printer software from the list of detected printers.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
