Hi
I have a HP ENVY 4504 Printer. Never had any issues with ink or printing before. A week or so ago we put in non-hp (Tesco brand) cartridges, colour and black and white, and a few teething issues, but printed what and how we wanted.
Now today, it's decided it doesn't want to print at all. Comes up with a msg on the printer contol panel and will not print. On the msg that appears on the laptop screen, it says that it is unable to print in its 'current configuration'. This suggests that there is an option to change something somewhere.
Any advice graefully received.
Thanks

Greetings @Katie285,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post,
I understand that you are unable to print from your computer and are using non-HP ink.
Don't worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?
Are you able to make a copy on the printer?
May I know the error you get on the printer screen?
Recommend you to use genuine HP ink?
How is the printer connected to your computer? (USB or wireless)
Recommend you remove the cartridges, clean the contacts on the cartridge and insert it back in the printer.
Refer to Step 7 in this article, check if the alignment page prints.
Copy function of a printer is independent of the software on the computer.
If you are unable to make a copy, please do hard reset (disconnect the power cable of the printer, wait for a minute and connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer ON.)
If the printer still does not make a copy after a hard reset. Please contact our phone support for the service or upgrade options for the printer.
If the printer is able to make a copy, please uninstall the printer software on your computer and issue install it back and check.
Also, refer to this article and check if your printer is giving any of the errors mentioned in this article.
Keep me posted.
