On some printers (4500) there is a clear flexible celluloid cover over the flourescent tube. The inner side length is tucked under the white underside lid. Flip open (unhook) the tucked length to expose & clean its backside & the tube.

If this helped please give Kudos to bubble it up closer to the top of replies so that others may find it more quickly. I spent a bit of time looking thru the net not finding this solution anywhere. In desperation I examined the hardware & decided this was the only thing that could possibly cause "only the ADF streaks".
