Hi folks,
My DeskJet 3050 J610a no longer scans. the only big change that I've made to my setup is update to windows 10.
When i scan i get coloured vertical lines as if the imaging devices is defective. Prior to this attempt of user the scanner worked for many years.
This is what i'm dealing with...
Any one have any suggestion?
I tried:
- Reinstall drivers
- clean the screen/back plate
- connect the printer to a wall socket
- scan over usb and wifi
- run the scan troubleshooting utility
Thanks in advance.

Greetings @Pinscher,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are unable to make good scans on your printer.
Not to worry, I will get glad to help.
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Are you able to make a good copy on the printer?
Recommend you make a copy on the printer and check print quality. (copy and scan use the same mechanism.)
Copy function of a printer is independent of the software on the computer.
If you are unable to make a copy, please do hard reset (disconnect the power cable of the printer, wait for a minute and connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer ON.)
If the printer still does not make a copy after a hard reset. Please contact our phone support for the service or upgrade options for the printer.
If you are able to make a copy without any print quality issues.
Please try to scan using any other scanning application and check. Click here to know about other applications available for scanning.
Let me know how it goes.
