I can not find where to start HP Scan and Capture. Is not showing as an app and can't find any exe file in any program files. I seem to only be able to get it from the MS website where says "installed" and will run from there. But I assume I can run it direct from PC but for the life of me I can't find it as an app or program.

Hi,
As mentioned above, I only use HP Scan and normally reinstall software and driver should fix this. But you would not do this and prefer to use HP Scan and Capture. Just for you, I ran the following steps:
1. Using Windows Store search for this app (don't know why I could not find it yesterday, on this same computer)
2. Click Free to Install
3. Open it
Your question probably is step #3 above. Please try:
(a) Hold down Win key and press Q
(b) Type HP sca (as shown on the above image), HP Scan and Capture should be at the top
(c) Double click to open it.
Regards.

Yes drivers installed and and it prints fine sent wirelessly, copies and HP Scan and Capture works but can only get to it from the MS app website. Says it is installed but can't find any trace of it installed like a app on the computer. Seems I have to go to the website to use it instead of it being on computer which would make it much easier to use.

Hi,
I always use proper HP Scan software under Windows (7, 8.1 and 10). From my view, HP Scan and Capture app is still at its early stage and it is more suitable for mobile devices (phones, tablets) than for normal Windows computers. In the long run, this could be a main app for cross platforms, I don't know. Again not now.
I installed HP Scan and Capture app on my Windows 10 phone and my tablets (2 Samsung and 1 HP) and my Surface RT for test only. Last night, I used Windows 10 Store to install (again for testing) but could not find it.
Regards.

I was trying to use Scan and Capture since when just updated to Win10 the HP Scan I had been using for years can not find the printer. So I used Scan and Capture which worked from website but wish it was an app.
I ran the print and scan doctor and it found no errors for scan and ran a successful scan test. Only the old HP Scan can not find the printer.
Printer works fine printing everything from both main and networked computer and didn't t want to risk a reinstall if I could just use HP Scan and Capture since every thing else works except the prior HP Scan application
I realize there are lots of FAQ with a large amount of stuff to do with this problem, I just haven't had the hours of time to do it all vs real work I need to do

Thanks I got it.
It didn't show up as a regular file (still don't know where the exe is on computer). Didn't show up as new under all programs on classic start menu which I use since the Win10 "Most Used " left side is worthless to me vs programs I want to have there... Also was not showing up as a new tile when switch to windows start (using the windows key). HOWEVER when in windows 10 menu found it by using the alphabetical look up.
I now have it pinned to classic start menu where I want it. (until I get old HPScan program reinstalled etc).
BTW Classic Start is showing the file is AD2F1837.HPScanandCapture_v10z8...... large string of numbers.
No wonder I could not find it using file explorer or "This PC".
Maybe this thread might help others with the mystery.
