Moved and trying to connect printer to new WiFi network.  Why is this always so hard?

I have both 2.4 & 5.0 GHz connections.  I'm using a new MacBook Air running Yosemite OSX.  I was able to successfully print using wired connection but cannot get the IP address to read even after I checked Wireless direct on.  The links I've read in this forum seem to show different models, because I don't have the same commands available to me.

No network is showing up when I printed Config report.  iPv4 shows network cable is disconnected?  Do I have to connect my laptop onto the 2.4 GHz connection to be able to see the printer on the network?  Why am i not getting any screen on the printer to allow me to enter network id and pwd?  What is a WPS push button?  I have the fastest speed router from AT&T and it only has a rest button, nothing labeled WPS push button...

Please help.  Doesn't seem to be any way to speak to a person.

Hi @yakoweshen, This is a great location for extra support! I see that you are having issues connecting the printer over the new network. I would be glad to help you.

Yes, the printer is only capable of sending/receiving in the 2.4 GHZ band.

If the router is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 GHZ. (rename the 5 GHZ or shut it off)
The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.
Multicasting needs to be turned on.
Firewall on the router has to have open ports for the printer.
If you have Mac Filtering you need to give printer hardware address from Configuration page.
You might need to contact your router company for further assistance to check those settings and configure the routers.
