Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This printer has always worked fine and is still fairly new.  All of a sudden it will not print multiple page documents at all.  You have to physically go into print preview and print one page at a time.  It still prints one page documents with no problem.

@kpier76

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer is not printing on multiple pages. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • How is the printer connected to the computer, wired or wireless?
  • Are you getting any error message when you printer multiple pages?

Meanwhile:

Reseat the printer.

  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it turned on.
  • Press and hold the power cable for 60secs.
  • Plugin the power cable to printer and directly to wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

Thank you for your response. The printer is wired to the computer and also has wireless capability. I've unplugged as you described above with no result. There is no error message that comes up. It just does not print at all unless it's a 1 page document.

Hi @kpier76, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @sandytechy20, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.

Thanks for the reply and providing the information.

Are you facing the issue with USB and wireless setup?

This seems to be a driver issue, recommend you uninstall the printer following the procedure mentioned below and install it back.

Uninstall the printer from programs and features from the control panel. (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)

Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it.

Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.

Click on print server properties.

You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there, if any.

Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.

Restart the PC.

Once the PC is booted the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,

Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.

It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files, ignore them).

If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.

Restart the PC again.

Download the latest full feature driver from www.hp.com/drivers and install it on the computer.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
